The same year MCP performed its first production of The Music Man, Schoolhouse Rock debuted in January, featuring short music videos like Multiplication Rock. The show was picked up by ABC and ran until the mid 1980s. In 1993, exactly 20 years later, the musical SchoolHouse Rock Live! opened in Chicago and captivated audiences of all ages.
This September, MCP invites you to join us to hear classic songs such as Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Just a Bill and Conjunction Junction and transport yourself to simpler times. With a musical that features a cast of over 40 people with ages ranging from one year to over 70 years old, this show is sure to entertain people of all ages. Director Laureen Catlin and Producer Mary Stan Fizer are thrilled to bring these songs to the stage for audiences both young and old alike. Come learn something new or remember something you’ve forgotten.
